Fight for Your Immune System!
A weak immune system can lead to getting sick faster, but what leads to a weak immune system? There could be a number of different things such as a diet lacking in vital nutrients or low in healthy fruits and vegetables, not getting enough sleep, smoking, drinking alcohol, taking too many medicines, pollution, or stress. Bottom line, it is up to you to treat your body right in order to keep it healthy, if not, you will see signs of it failing soon enough.
How to have a strong immune system:
1. Eat right!
Get used to include in your daily diet at least a hot meal. Make sure you eat foods rich in vitamins, minerals, fibers, Omega 3 and probiotics every day, these can be found in natural yogurt, garlic, onion, bananas, natural juices, oatmeal, etc. All of these have positive effects on your digestive, respiratory and immune systems.
Other healthy foods also recommended to be consumed daily are mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, parsley, beetroot, beans, avocado, nuts, grapes, critics, olive oil, chicken breast, and eggs. These being said, make sure you stay away from over processed foods, fast food, sugary foods, fizzy drinks, and alcohol, they do not hold any nutritional value and can interfere with calcium and vitamin C absorption as is the case of sugar.
2. Exercise regularly!
The recommended minimum daily exercise is 30 minutes, which can help you improve your cardiovascular system, get rid of stress, and strengthen your immune system. It is also recommended that you take regular walks outside in order to stretch your legs and get fresh air. A sedentary lifestyle combined with a bad diet can lead to obesity which weakens your immune system affecting the production of white blood cells leading to low antibody production, thus delaying healing infection in the body.
3. Relax!
It is recommended that you take some time for yourself during the day in which you can either meditate, simply lie in bed and think about nothing, or even engage in fun activities that you like: singing, dancing, running, walking in the park, or even watching a good comedy or reading a funny book. Always make sure you get a good night’s sleep. Go to bed at least 7 to 8 hours before waking up and think happy thoughts before falling asleep. Forget about your everyday worries and stress and unwind, you’ll have plenty of time to think about those the next day!
